Santa! I know him!

Our 2013 visit to Santa was a success!!!  I have to give Santa credit because he was just the sweetest man.  We decided to run up to the Denton mall because it is closest to the house, and I honestly didn't have high expectations for the Golden Triangle Santa, but he was great!  He kept waving to all the kids in line as we waited and that helped boost Grey's confidence a lot.  Grey was a little hesitant at first, but once I handed Elizabeth to the big man in red Grey let me set him down next to him. (Peer pressure/big brother protector for the win!) Grey was so happy/excited he looked like he was about to burst!

I was so happy that Grey didn't flip out that I may have teared up a bit and Santa gave me a hug…thanks Santa:) You'll notice that Elizabeth, who smiles ALL THE TIME, was not overly impressed by Santa.  Jared and I looked like a couple of crazy people trying to get them both to smile, but I figure 1)there was no crying, and 2)Grey is smiling, and 3)there was no crying…1 out of 2 kids is a win, right? It certainly beats last year!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from The Petkoffs

Adventures in Christmas card photography!

I mistakenly thought wrangling one kid was hard…oh the naivety! They weren't too bad, but I was sweating by the time this was done! Ha!

 Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas!

5 Months

Elizabeth is 5 months old today! This little girl is growing so much!

She is still the happiest little thing, and is always ready with a smile!

Her big brother is completely smitten these days, and can barely keep his hands off of her! Haha it's so sweet!  She gets lots of kisses and hugs.  Who can blame him!  I can't seem to get enough myself! I don't know if it's because she is the last little Petkoff baby, or what, but I just want to snuggle her all the time! In addition to all the love, Grey is also super protective of Elizabeth, and does NOT like it when she goes somewhere without him!
This month she finally grew big enough (with some pillows underneath) to jump in the exersaucer! She loves it! You will notice that she is wearing a bib in the photo below.  She is teething like crazy now and drools all over the place!

She is still sleeping in our room in her pack and play, but since she has decided in the last few days that she would rather "talk" to us in the middle of the night rather than sleep, her days are numbered in the room with us. She did finally start rolling over!  Woohoo! So, I feel better about the move to her own room, but I would really like her to roll a bit more.  Grey was sleeping on his stomach at this age because he would roll over by himself.  I need to stop stressing and just do it!
We went to the pediatric ophthalmologist this month, and Elizabeth will be having surgery on her eyelid. The surgeon said he didn't think it was an immediate concern, so he wants to wait until she is at least 6 months old.  We will probably wait until this summer, but I am glad that we got to talk to the doctor about it.  It sounds relatively minor for a surgery, if there is such a thing on an infant, so I am hopeful that this will be a quick fix.

Thanksgiving 2013

Happy Thanksgiving from our little turkeys!

We had such a nice thanksgiving!

Don is officially smitten! He held Elizabeth for so long and she was so happy that Jared and I have decided we've found a new babysitter!

We even managed to work in some cousin bowling time:) they were so cute!

The next morning Nanny came back over for a little more Elizabeth time. We also might have had pumpkin pie for breakfast...

And of course it was game on for Christmas outfits the next day!
