Introducing Elizabeth

Hello world! Please let me introduce Miss Elizabeth Jane Petkoff! She arrived Monday, July 15th at 1:54 pm weighing 6 lbs 12 oz and measuring 19 inches long.

We are so excited she's finally here! Jared and I are both a little shocked by how tiny she is, but she's so precious!
We started the day by going to the hospital at 10 because we were scheduled for noon, but there was another birth that delayed us a little, hence the 1:54 pm time.
Here we are ready for the hospital, and here is Jared (below) all geared up!

Grey is "patiently" waiting for Elizabeth's arrival.

Greyson is so excited about E! She got him a big brother gift and part of it was a fireman suit. I'm not sure which one he was more excited about, but he was so happy!

Elizabeth had lots of visitors her first few days, and all of the family was there to greet her! (These are just the pics I remembered to take:)

We stayed at the hospital until Thursday when we were finally allowed to head home.

Going home!

We came home to the cutest signs that Grey and GG made for our front door!

Finally, here are a couple of pics from our first two days at home. Grey is in love with his baby sister and wants to give her hugs and kisses all the time. So sweet!!

My favorite thing he says is when she cries, "Elizabeth (E-yiz-abef) is crying!! Mommy calm her down!" So funny how concerned he is! Here's to hoping the love lasts between these siblings:)

Elizabeth's Big Day

Tomorrow is Elizabeth Jane Petkoff's official birthday! We are so excited to meet her! Grey spent the night with GG and Pops and I'm not quite sure he understands what is about to happen. He seems excited though so hopefully he will be when he finally gets to meet her!

Our Little Fish

Grey has been going to swimming lessons once a week since the middle of June and thankfully he's in love with the water! He's our little fish!

He's right on the edge of the age ranges so he's in the 0-36 month class which makes him the older kid in class. It's a class for parents and kids so Jared has been taking the lessons with him (I'm a little too pregnant for swim lessons:).

They have so much fun every week! The class focuses on being able to jump in and turn around to crawl back out, as well as holding your breath and going under.

Movie Time

Greyson saw his first movie in the theater last week. Jared and I decided to be brave and attempt it even though we are dealing with some amazingly fun "terrible twos." We took Grey to see Despicable Me 2, and he LOVED it!

He was completely absorbed in the movie the entire time, and literally sat on the edge of his seat. It was adorable!

We got him a little popcorn and he ate it one piece at a time periodically as we were watching, and every time he grabbed a piece he gave me this big grin like "this is awesome Mom." So much fun!

Happy 4th!

We had a fun filled 4th this year! It actually started for us on the 3rd. Jared and I decided at the last minute to take Grey to see the fireworks in Southlake that night. We were a little nervous about it since it was Grey's first time to see them, and also because he fell asleep on the way there (they began at 9:30 pm). We got there and woke him up just in time, and even though he was a little unsure at first ("Mommy the fireworks won't get me?" "No baby they won't get you.") he LOVED them!! Here he is all ready for the fireworks in his PJs.

Afterward we got in the car to leave and he was bubbling with excitement. I told him that we were going to get to do sparklers (aka sparkles) at GG and Pops house the next night and he talked about it for at least the next 20 minutes! Haha here is a clip of our ride home...

On the 4th we spent the day at GG and Pops house with the whole family! Grey was excited to see everyone, but he was especially excited to swim with his cousins Kannon and Kolson. He thinks they're pretty awesome!

His favorite thing to do these days is jump in the pool. He did this at least 20-30 times and got to the point where he didn't want Jared to catch him. Such a big boy!

GG got him to sort of sing Happy Birthday to America (note the marshmallow bribe he's holding:) Haha he is such a stinking mess

And last, but not least, we have to document the pregnancy stance. Grey is roasting marshmallows with Pops in the picture below, but you have to pay attention to the stance. He walks around with his hand on his hip/back like he's 9 months pregnant! Ha! It cracks me up...as long as he stops doing this once I do!

We hope everyone had a happy 4th of July! Only 11 more days until we get to meet Elizabeth!

Summertime!

We are taking full advantage of our summer at this house! When Grey saw the sprinklers turn on this morning after he woke up, he begged to go play. How could I say no? He loves the water in all forms and ran full force into the sprinklers--pirate PJs and all! Love this kid!
